Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or drones)

Personal information collection notice for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s/drones) documenting project work for the Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp)

TI Corp uses UAVs for aerial mapping, photographing and videoing current and future highway corridor projects, bridge construction and rehabilitation monitoring, geotechnical monitoring (rock blasting) and environmental monitoring of areas affected by projects.

UAV pilots keep a 100 feet distance between UAVs and persons and position UAVs to avoid personal information collection.

Due to the nature of the collection, it is not practical or feasible to provide each individual (within the video/photography range of an UAV) with a collection notice. For those cases where personal information is collected TI Corp provides the following collection notice:

The personal information is collected by TI Corp under sections 26(c) and 26(e) of Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (“FOIPPA”) for the purposes of documenting project work.
